A good review on the Khartago/Etesian pair on the "Goodsound" site.  I must admit though, I am somewhat dumbfounded by comments to the effect of the Etesian preamp being soft on the extremes.   Being solid state, how can it be soft?  This is 2005 and, solid state has been around for years now.  A wide band solid state preamplifier is not exactly an elusive ideal these days.  Is this preamp an op-amp based design?  I could not find any information on the Oddysee website but, perhaps I am not looking in the right place.

The comments on the Khartago amplifier were very good.  Excellent in fact.  Again, I could not find any info on this amp on the website.

Now if only the Loreleis had been included in this review.

I tend to prefer tube equipment, but the Odysseys leapt ahead of most of the tube gear I’ve heard recently.

That sounds like quite a compliment, especially when you consider the price of the Odyssey gear compared to the price of most tube gear.
