Lorelei Speakers

Hi,
I'm new here, just wanted to say that I ordered a pair of Lorelei speakers
from odyssey, in dark cherry .  I guess I started from the top of a stereo system.
I've read almost every thread pertaining to odyssey audio here and elsewhere.  I've heard a lot of speakers in showrooms, in all price ranges, and the great majority of them don't have deep, tight bass.  I
hope the lorelei don't let me down.  I guess is tough to find a speaker
that have all the good qualities mentioned here. Right now I own MA.

Hey Soundman,

I ordered mine in light cherry they are finally ready to be delivered. THese speakers should not disapoint. I just sold my MA gold ref 60's series. I was content with my MA's, decent soundstage, imaging detail, dynamic.. The loreleis should to be much betterand then some. According to the glowing reviews I know I made the right decision. You really cannot go wrong with any of Klaus's products.. I have his extreme monos, Tempest preamp, none of these components have let me down... True joy and excitement...

Hi peter59, bunky & John151,

You guys really must like odyssey a lot.  I've read how you describe
how satisfied and happy you are with your systems.  Klaus should be
proud in having so many content customers, I'm looking forward in
becoming one of them.

I ordered the lorelei's the first week of October, Klaus said it would take
two to three weeks. We're now in november; Hmmm, I'm getting desperate. :(

As you've read, they'll be worth the wait.  But the wait can be a real PITA!  Klaus' customer service is top notch - no matter how long it takes

I do like my Odyssey gear, but  I can't say that my system sounds better than competing systems as I have not demo'd all of the choices that are available (who has?).  But I can say that I really like the sound of my system.  Also, there is more to it than just the sound - you have to enjoy all aspects of the gear, including the research, the purchase, the asthetics, etc..  And there is just something satisfying about owning custom made gear, and getting personalized service.    I purchased my Stratos used, and after sending it in for an upgrade, it now has my name engraved on the back.  That shows that Klaus supports his equipment AFTER the initial sale.  Additionally, there are not very many brands that can provide you with the entire system, including cables.

I am certain that if I did not go with Odyssey, that I would go with one of the other brands on this forum.  I am just not into paying huge prices, or dealing with snooty attitudes,  that are so typical of the high end stores.

Hey all,
Just wanted to let you know that I am now a proud and fortunate owner of some brand new lite cherry loreleis. As my wife has commented they are a beautiful piece of furniture to look at. In my opinion that is secondary to the important issue SOUND. Let me tell you everything you have heard or read is absolutely correct these speakers are just mind-boggling especially being of a 2 way design. I previously had a pair of MA Gold ref 60's (2 woofers,1 midrange,1 tweeter design) not even close, I now have more detail, microdetail that was missing with the MA's is now brilliantly in abundance with the loreleis. I thought I had great bass before I now have visceral bass I can feel in my chest, midrange is supposedly the MA's strong point not even close, the loreleis have much better emotional mids, female vocals are to die for.. they also exhibit endless highs the MA's sounded metallic.. Soundstage much wider, imaging about the same as the MA's. What these loreleis are doing is bringing you so much closer to the music, they also disappear in your listening room. The scary thing about all this is this is my impressions after only a few hours!! When I called Klaus to applaud him on his work he said wait until you get the cones and have broken in the crossovers at 200 hrs. I said "you have to be kidding these babies sound terrific right now." I guess I will have to post more impressions when they are at the break in point. So for now I will just sit back with my single malt and listen to Patricia Barber CAFE BLUE and Joni Mitchell BLUE cds.

Hi Peter59,

I'm happy you got your lorelei speakers and to know that you are
overjoyed for the way they look and specially the way they sound.

I spoke to klaus today and mine are suppose to arrive this weekend.
I'm hoping that I'll find them as great sounding as you and others have
stated here.  Can't hardly wait.
