Recently discovered tape at the Library of Congress has been released on CD.  http://bluenote.com/detail.asp?SelectionID=10459>   Very high quality recording from 1957.

They had a 1 hour feature on our local jazz station,(Jazz FM 91), about this and I enjoyed the  performances. Just wondering how the sound quality is.

The NPR station in Seattle won't play it because they say the sound quality is not good enough. I see that it got 3/5 stars in Stereophile for sound quality. I haven't heard it yet for myself.

I used to live in Tacoma, love it up there.  Down here in the SF Bay Area, I've heard it a few times on NPR and love it...

Sound quality is ok, I am waiting for a master release on either LP or SACD, if it ever comes...

I hope it does.

Yup, this title deserves to be an SACD. I can wait. Hope it's not forever.

Honestly, the sound for a 1957 recording is pretty good. I've heard much worse get plenty of air play. Sheesh
