Nice TT Marbles!  You showed some real restraint in buying the one you did.  I have always had a hard time differentiating between want and need.  :)

What arm and cartridge did you get?

Thanks for the thoughts, but it was my checkbook that restrained me more than anything!  :(

I bought a SME IV tonearm and a Symphonic Line RG8 (Thank you Klaus!)
The RG8 is a modified Van Den Hul Grasshopper!!!

The lead filled Cocobolo platter sounds nicer than the vinyl lead filled one, but it is about $900 more  :o

Marbles,

If you don't mind, what was your final cost for the Teres?

thanks

Mine is a one of a kind with a one off cocobolo veneer base.

For all standard models, the prices are on the website.  It was a lot more than I had planned to spend, but it always is.... 8)

The Arm was from 2Juki off agon (from Hong Kong) and Icefox bought Klaus's last RG8 cartrigde a day or two ago, but he might be able to get more. If he can't, I saw a rebuilt Grasshopper on Agon for $1800.  I don't think this is the Gold version though.

I suggest you contact each manufacturer to see what they can do for you.

The phono pre I currently use is a Channel Islands VPP1 for high output MM/MC cartridges, but Dusty will send me something from his upcoming VPP2 for low output MC cartridges in about 3 weeks.  This could be just a PCB, or it could be the whole pre.

The TT was about $2500 with battery, the arm about $1000, and add in the cartridge and your starting to talk real money :o
