Twice on vacations to Canada in October I've been wished happy thanksgiving by my friendly neighbors to the east (I'm from Michigan). I thought it strange to be so very prompt, but upon my return home I saw on my calendar that Canada indeed celebrates Thanksgiving in October (the 2nd monday I believe). As we've once again had snow for Thanksgiving, I'm thinking that October would be the more appropriate time. Down here Thanksgiving triggers the start of the Christmas season (which overshadows, and for me at least ruins, a perfectly good holiday with commercialism).
So a belated, but heart felt happy thanksgiving to all you north of the border!
