I had to do a product shot for a class, and I thought "what better subject than my humble Sharp?" Now I just need some lovely Super 3's to match. Resized for web of course, the original shot just pops off an 11 x 14 print.

Please be sure to post feedback you get in class. My initial observations would be that most tabletop work does not let the background go so dark as on the left, and that my instinct would be to show the product with it on and the display illuminated. It looks like a unfunctional black stripe to the unintiated.

Oh, and a lot of commercial work like this seems to prefer at least an area of hotter/blown highlights when things are shiny. I'm on a Mac, so it's possible there are display differences or that the range has been compressed in putting a small file on the web....

Along the lines of getting the display, does the assignment permit Photoshopping in the diplay, if it proved hard to photograph? (If they don't fobid it then that means you may in my book.)
