Stratos humming. Changes with volume.
« on: 30 Oct 2005, 10:58 pm »
I've got only a handful of days on a new Stratos. I'm getting a substantial hum coming from the left channel. Yes, it stays put when I switch R and L channel interconnects on the back. I just want to know if anyone else has had an issue with (as Klaus suggested) a grounding problem(?) like this.  How was it solved?

Also, is there such a thing as a preamplifier (in my case, fully-tubed) exacerbating this?
Thanks!

i would send the Amplifier back to Indy and have Klaus take a peek at it. the only time i had a similar problem it was with a Rotel amplifier and it turned out to be a short in a pair of Audioquest copperhead ic,s and to this day i will never buy another cable from them again as long as i live. thanks....WCW III

This may or may not be related but someone once advised me to cheater plug my power cables. Under what circumstances would one do this?
