I'm in the market for a cheap DAC to mostly power a pair of headphone. The Indigo and the Audiophile USB would be perfect feature wise, well the Audiophile USB even more but that is not important, my main concern is their sound quality. I will not be able to test them both. The Echo Indigo would have to be ordered but I found the Audiophile USB in a local store.
So, I'm wondering if anyone as owned or tried both of these with an easy to drive headphone (Shure in ear canal type) directly connected into it? I'm only concerned by the sound quality with their headphone out feature.
I'm also open to other suggestions in the same price range that have either a USB connectivity or PCMCIA card and headphone out if you have compared it's sound quality and found it to be superior.
