Dokorder 7010 service info
« on: 6 Jun 2009, 06:35 am »
Hi, I am new around here, but have kicked around the audio world for a while now.

I picked up/rescued a Dokorder 7010 from the side of the road a while ago. It is complete, and it runs, records and plays poorly, but gets very distressed, hot and smelly, very quickly.

Could anyone help me with a service manual or schematic for this monster, or maybe one of its siblings?

Do you have a pic?
I have a chance to pick up an old Pioneer RTR tape deck but I don't know what I'd do with it.

Are you playing old tapes or making new ones?

I can take a pic and put it up. I don't really have a plan to use this machine other than as a display piece; I would just like to get it running properly and see how well I can get it to perform.

I have the (large) SM of a Dokorder 7140 set, see my web page for info, it might be similar or the 4 channel version.

Thanks for the advice re the SM for the 7140. From what I can see this looks like a completely different series of machine to my 7010. Check the pic to see how different it is. Some of the conmponents in my 7010 have the year 1966 and 1967 printed on them, so I guess this unit was made in 1967.

Cheers
