Great idea for audio/home theater cabinet
« on: 9 Jun 2005, 01:51 am »
I was channel surfing tonight and stumbled on a show called "I Want That" on HGTV.  One very neat product they showed was an audio equipment rack.  By unscrewing the bottom panel, you can pull the entire rack out, then rotate it 90 degrees to get at the wiring easily.  Anyone familiar with this product-it sure looks good to someone who has struggled with mirrors, etc. while trying to reconfigure wires in the back of the cabinet.  Here is the website for this cabinet:

Another product they featured was flat audio (or power) wire that you can plaster over and then paint, so it can't be seen at all.  Any thoughts on the audio qualities of this product-it would certainly help the WAF around here, at least for the back speakers in a home audio setup.  Here's a link for the manufacturer of FlatWire:

I have no experience with either of these products, nor any insight into any technical aspects of their performance.  However, I did watch the flash video presentation for the flat wire product on the link above.  I would recommend this to anyone in desperate need of entertainment.

Seriously, did they anticipate that this would make anyone want to buy the product?

"Expand two dimensional wisdom into multi-dimensional innovation.

"Science tells us the Universe may have begun as a single point.  Are you ready?  Are you flat wire ready?"

What's up with that Da Vinci sketch that floats through the middle of the presentation?  Was this one of Leonardo's long-lost ideas?  And as for the music...I think it will haunt me for the rest of the day  :o
