hope klaus doesnt get very pissed at me but here it goes-

if you order a silver tempest get the knobs in black,if you have a silver tempest ask klaus for black knobs-

i wish i had a camera :o as good as the tempest looked before -with the black knobs it looks so  much better now its not funny- it has a depth to its look now ,more 3d not just a heavy bland looking well built thing.the cyclops should be this way from the factory imho.

and he still wont use a orange bulb in my tempest-oh well at least i got him to do the  knobs

Why don't you just ask him for a plain white bulb and then paint it yourself? :)

Klaus told me just 2 weeks ago (this was in regards to the Stratos and I hope I have this right) that he no longer used the white lights because they are incandescent and have the potential to introduce noise into the system.  He said the blue ones are led's and are low(er) voltage(?), therefore performing quieter.

I hope I'm not opening a can of worms by saying this, Klaus.  My apologies if so.

Well I think that leds are better, less energyconsuming than lamps, cooler, and also more efficient, they do not fail very often...

That's the main reason I guess...

The noise.. mm I don't know I live in a very "waves" noisy environment that even affected my DAC-CD at some point but with the old Stratos I never has a problem concerning noise or interferences.

Electronic change in the new Tempest board is an increase in overall gain resulting from reconfiguration of the phono stage output transistor to a Darlington pair.  There may be some changes in component manufacturers w/o changes in component values, but that's essentially it.  There's no change whatsoever in the line stage & output.  Give it time to breathe

Sounds very interesting. Any pictures of your "new" Tempest?

I have thought of giving my silver Tempest golden Knobs..Any views on this combination?

My new silver tempest with  black knobs should arrive tomorrow!   :D

I wanted a black face plate, but Klause did not have any in stock, so he offered up this combo, and I remembered this post.  Thanks for the suggestion!
