... how the hell were they able to capture and contain these alien species?

Probably trial and error but cats are good at capturing Trypanohyncha Ocellus, aka the Eye. The ship also had rats for tick food.

All they needed was a cage. Robo-bunnies are used in Florida to attract pythons

That said, the entire ship (except one) was filled with expendables.

We're all interested in finding out how these aliens were captured, just in case of course.

I have been hiking for 45 years, much of it in designated wilderness areas. In my experience, many people abandon common sense when they enter an alien environment like the wilderness. Out here in the desert Southwest the biggest, most dangerous element is the heat, it kills more people than any mountain lion or venomous creature. Even experienced hikers succumb to it. And heat doesn't appear dangerous at all.

I can imagine an alien world would be the same, the dangerous looking stuff can be avoided. The small cute crawly bugs and eyeballs might be a hazard. I'm guilty of bending over to get a close look at a new creature or a mushroom or an egg. I wouldn't last long on an alien world. The last thing I would hear is "Wayne caught an alien, bag him."

Time to prune a little to get back on topic.

The episode tonight, a few thoughts:

I knew Mr. Low Sperm Count was going to get face-huggered. It wasn't going to be the brother, I mean he survived getting run through with the tail of the Xenomorph.  Evil Alfred(the trillionaire's butler is too smart for that to happen to him).
Why did Low Sperm Count suddenly develop ethics when it came to erasing a robot's memory but not transferring a child's into a robot or changing hormones to manipulate emotions?
They tried to make a kid in a robot's body seem wise and philosophical and utterly failed.

The best part of this episode was the elevator scene between Kirsh and Morrow insulting each other.
One wonders if Kirsh purposely messed with that lab door in order to have his assistant release the aliens.

Would have been better off for the series to not show the incompetence of the crew, how the hell were they able to capture and contain these alien species?
Besides Morrow (Pilgrim from 'Into the Badlands'), they all seem like slapstick characters. Expected better characters' profiles from Noah.
There was a saboteur so there was no need for having the crew be a bunch of morons.  Also, how stupid is the boy genius openly communicating with the saboteur personally.  If he has enough money to pay the saboteur, then he has enough money to hire someone else not connected to him to arrange it.
