First is An Audioquest NRG2 power cord. 6 foot length. Molded Ends. Audioquest says this about the design. In fine condition, no cuts or tears, ends look excellent.
NRG-2 uses solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors in a Self Shielding Counter-Spiral Hyperlitz. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, which is the greatest single source of distortion in an audio cable or an AC power cable. The less-complicated grain structure and fewer impurities within LGC copper significantly reduce distortion compared to normal high-purity copper. Counter-Spiral geometry minimizes conductor interaction while maintaining a fixed low-inductance relationship between conductors.

The Open Melody LH2 power cord is handmade and shielded with 2 layers of aluminum foil with 5-6 times the thickness of aluminum foil found in common foil shielded power cords. Thicker insulation has been added to make it cleaner and quieter. Under the hood, it is built using highly conductive C10100 OFC 99.99% copper wires with premium insulation with exemplary dielectric properties, and quality terminations including a hybrid power plug mixing 99.999% cryo copper with complementary audio attributes and a hybrid IEC mixing 99.999% cryo OFC and OCC copper for a perfect and seamless integration of all audio registers. Most people don't know the importance of terminations which are the weakest link. Pure copper being 3 times as conductive as brass, copper terminations are vastly superior. Even 99.999% copper does not perform identically from one manufacturer to another. All coppers have their balance and audio attributes. In 16 years of making power cords, I have came across a bunch of terminations from various manufacturers. None are perfectly balanced and the best performers are not always the most expensive. Knowing the audio/video attributes of all different coppers used by manufacturers gives an edge for making balanced power cords with top notch performance at a reasonable cost. Also, people often overlook the importance of wire insulation. Budget power cords use PVC insulation with high dielectric constant averaging 4 which leads to high attenuation and capacitance loss. Wire insulation used for the Open Melody LH2 has near half the dielectric constant of similar priced power cord which greatly helps to maintain velocity, detail and signal integrity. To further improve high frequencies response, fluidity, detail and smoothness, it now features a power plug with direct silver-plated neutral (-) blade for an even smoother and more balance sound.
Even if it is more extended, transparent and detailed, the new Open Melody LH2 power cord does not sound overly bright. It possesses a natural warmth, balance and richness with no emphasis of the upper mid. I put all my 16 years of knowledge and cable experience in it. Sound is meaty and weighty like you have had a bigger power cord with no emphasize of the upper bass and upper mid like some over-sized power cords with large conductors prone to skin effect problems. I highly recommend the Open Melody LH2 pc for power amps, integrates and preamps but it can work well too on other components. In my system, I get wonderful results on my Bryston BP25P preamp when pairing it with the Open Harmony XT hybrid V2 pc on source.
