I ended up with some extra gear sitting around that didn't sell when I listed it for sale, so decided to just Frankenstein some systems in other rooms of my house for fun. I jumped into that Fosi Audio kickstarter earlier in the year for their new V3 monoblock amps, so I used two of them along with a Schiit Saga 2 preamp that I just picked up, to serve as a front end for my Maggie .7 speakers. (I've had the first iteration of the Schiit Saga tube preamp since it came out years ago, and have always really liked it.) Of all the crazy things that have comprised "life" over the last year or two, my ex-wife became my current girlfriend, and so I decided to not only give her a room in my house for when she spends the weekend, but I hooked her up with this grouping of gear.
I'm honestly kind of shocked at how good this gear actually sounds. It's just an average sized bedroom, so I cant really give the Maggies as much room to breathe as they like, and I never thought I'd be making them hang out with some ultra-budget chi-fi amps, but all things considered, it sounds amazing. I tossed in a little RSL 10" speedwoofer sub to round it out, and it's just unreal how enjoyable it is for both movies and music. Dynamic, detailed, with plenty of headroom, and a surprisingly wide soundstage with pretty decent imaging.
