New, from So Cal
« on: 24 Nov 2023, 05:39 pm »
Happy Thanksgiving to all!  I live in San Dimas CA, have the following set up-

Nakamichi CA5 preamp
Sony CD player
Mcintosh MR500 tuner
Thorens TD145 with a bunch of mods I did myself
Denon 103R with Denon 320 SUT
Backup Ortofon Black
McIntosh C7100 amplifier
McIntosh ML1C speakers
McIntosh MQ101 equalizer
Speakers are updated with high frequency driver modifications Roger Russell provided me

Looking to replace the Nakamichi preamp with maybe the FET valve CFR with onboard phono.
Anyone with great experience with the preamp with phono, would love to hear your experience/advice!

That's my story folks kinda boring.  Thanks!

- Primare SC15 Mk2 (still waiting to be delivered) wireless pre-amp, streamer, room EQ, WISA speaker connection.

- MacBook Air for wireless connection for Tidal

Hi fullrangeman, yes, I use the MQ101.  It works great!  And I just recently had it checked out by Mike Zucarro in San Diego, all up to spec.  Thanks!
