I'd second the DK.. best integrated I've heard at 3,k new. (a steal at 1900 used)  I much prefer the sound of it to the Plinius 8200.  I like the clarity in the hifi frequencies and the big powerful sound of the DK... the Plinius is more of a finessed sound and just didn't do it for me overall.

But, you never know what someone else is going to like.... If you lined up all the suggestions here so far, there's absolutely no way to predict what you'd really like.

Hantra, I was simply offering the DK based on price and possible availability.

Ohh I know.  Don't take my post personally.  I just lost an awful lot of money on the DK, and am bitter towards it.

I came from a Krell KAV 300i, and before that Classe CA-100, CP-45 set-up. Last year I picked up a used Jolida 801A integrated. I'll put it as simply as possible, this thing sounds more musical, more real and just plain live than anything I've owned. And that's without a separate preamp.  Best $800.00 I've spent on audio gear in 20 years of this hobby by far. For $1500.00 new, I would still say it's a steal.

I agree with Hantra on the DK integrated.  I personally believe it is way overhyped having heard it in two systems now.  The Plinius 8200 and the Naim Nait 5i I mentioned are better to my ears.

I've had the chance to hear the DK1 on a few occasions.  Each time I felt as though the unit was only average, even at the indicated retail price.

YBA DT Integre or Alpha.  I had two Audio Refinement Completes. first one was okay, second had reliability problems.  Do not like the amp "off" sound that makes woofer cones pull back and forth.  The IR electronic components of the AR Complete, I believe compromise in the reliability of an otherwise, very well priced unit.

Does anyone besides TacT (and the $15k Sharp) offer a full-path digital integrated amp?

This DK design group amp has got to be the most hyped, overrated POS that I've seen in 20 years of this hobby.

Funny for a product that is brand spanking new to the market is being sold for well under $2000.00. This is a RED flag in any other situation. Not for the true audiophile though, they are review hounds and buy per review. Sight unseen and sound unheard.

Here's a mint unit for $1835.00, $1200.00 off new.

I'd sooner buy back my old Sansui 9090.
