Classroom Speaker Build

Classroom Speaker Build

Hello all,

My name is Joseph Melton, and I am a STEM Engineering teacher (grades 7-9) at the Innovation Center in the West Valley School District, Yakima, WA.

As part of the intro to electrical engineering unit, my students will be designing crossovers and a two way desktop speaker system using CNC mfg and basic circuit design. Danny has agreed to step in as a Zoom instructor for part of this unit, and we are now shopping for drivers and crossover parts the students can use in their build.

If anyone has a recommendation for affordable drivers are parts, I would love to compile a list to present to my administration when I submit the paperwork for funding. Or if you have access to discounted or unused drivers, I would be interested in discussing those as well.

Get your required number of posts, then create a thread in the speakers for sale Circle section.

I have drivers available for sale. If you have PayPal, there is the option to buy the drivers ahead of time if they allow it.

We can talk numbers then.

Wow.  This is so like a project I did in my high school physics classes years ago.  Danny was a key player in that project as well.  I used to tell my students that if they couldn't make something better than Bose, they didn't build a successful project.   
I've got a storage unit full of caps, speakers, resistors, etc. I've even got a version of the same speaker measuring system Danny uses.   Reach out if I can help.
