Welcome!

After 3 posts you'll have full rights here.

You have classics, but they can be bettered nowadays and for less money.  JBL 305 Mk2 active 2-way monitors coupled to a NAD Bluesound Node will replace your entire system for $1000 USD.

Welcome! - it's good to have new/old blood join the group. Get your cherished stuff cleaned up and running as well as possible. If you haven't tried streaming sources, by all means do so. You will be amazed at the improvement in sound quality that is immediately available and conveniently. After you get every last drop of performance out of your gear you may get back on the treadmill chasing incrementally better performance. Modern hardware & software is so good it will likely blow your mind (that's a good thing) so enjoy the ride and share your journey with all of us on the Circle!
P.S. - Bob actually WAS my uncle, until he passed away a few years ago, RIP.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.
