Changing my subwoofer setup to a DIY one that I'm working on. The NHT are absolutely wonderful - I just want to try something of my own. This is for local pickup only - Way too bulky to ship.
$341 firm. Two really good looking 14" cubes with an excellent aluminum cone subwoofer inside, combined with the amplifier that's made for them - with both connected it can drive them to exactly their maximum and no higher. NHT A1 amplifier has power and auto-on, but no other controls - it was made to go with their X1 crossover BUT anyone using a modern home theater receiver with room correction can use this. You just plug in the amplifier from the sub out as per usual, and the two subwoofers to the amplifier (in parallel, just connect both subwoofers to the same output, or daisy chain from the amp to the sub to the other sub), and then run the receiver's room correction to get used to it. I suggest putting the subwoofers in the corners to maximize the (free!) boundary reinforcement.
Here is a current ad for a single W2 subwoofer for $200, so price is firm and more than fair.
