JVC RX-F10 problem
« on: 23 Apr 2005, 04:04 pm »
I was very, very pleased with the sound of my JVC, then I hooked it up to the dvd player and messed around with a lot of the settings, using both the remote and the front panel... when I swithched back to play my cd player through dvd-multi, it doesn't sound the same to me...the high end sounds very recessed, and the magic seems to be gone. When I switch back and forth between dvd-multi and dvd, there isn't the difference there used to be, and dvd-multi doesn't sound better.

I went back and reset everything I could think of, but it makes no difference. I thought maybe I messed up the 'small' and 'large' speaker settings, but can't seem make it sound like it used to.

Anybody have any ideas?

Tuff to call with a few variables involved.

Make sure, from the remote, you have it to analog (not digital) inputs. Make sure your analog IC's are connected to the DVR/DVD In's and it's set on DVD-Multi on the selector.

Perhaps you have it set to digital input and tripped on the DSP function....it could give it some weird (some nice, I use the 'Small Hall' effect on classical FM) effect that you don't like.

Some folks haven't heard a differnce in DVD and DVD Multi setting...some have said too close to call.  You may be either of those.  I hear a little bit of difference and keep it on DVD Multi.
