NX Studio Crossover Layout Help
« on: 12 Dec 2022, 07:19 pm »
Hi All,

Complete noob to AC and DIY speakers in general. I live in Northeast Ohio and I'm really looking forward to diving head first into this and eventually building out an entire setup.

First project is the NX Studio and parts arrived today. With this being my first build, I was hoping someone could confirm this crossover layout before I solder anything together. Really appreciate any insight/advise.

Thanks
Mike

:D good simple drawing . Looks easy to build with that !  I'd love to build a set of those speakers.  Who does the flat packs ?  :D

Email Captainhemo@shaw.ca for flatpacks. They do an excellent job where everything clicks together super snug.

I built a pair and finished them this summer.  Love 'em.

They took a lot longer to build than I had anticipated.  Especially the cabinet finish (mostly painted / Duratex in my case).  And I primed the insides. My soldering skills were pretty rusty too, so I felt like I had to relearn that.  I also built a set of GR Research cables during that process, which took waaaay longer than I thought they would.  I also updated some speaker stands that I built many years ago (made new tops to match the speakers and repainted).

If you plan on using Duratex, Parts Express carries a small can of it now (about $26).

Note that after you have 3 (?) posts you can do a search here.  There are many really good threads about these speakers.  You'll be amazed at some of the finishes that people do, if you haven't seen those already.

Good luck, have fun and welcome to the AC.
