You make a good point. The additional "Real Esate" on the back of the 1014 has space for a lot of features that won't fit on the thin-line type receivers. Yep, it's got pre-outs for all channel, real binding post for speaker connections and multiple video inputs for each channel.
Actually, this is the first time I've used video swithcing. I run component from my cable box, component from DVD, S-video from cable box, composite from VCR. I run all of these through the Pioneer VSX-1014TX and it upscales everything to Component. I run a single component cable to my Plasma TV.
This greatly simplifies use of the remote, which I successfully use for all devices in the system. Works great!
