Hello. I’m new to Audio Circle. I’m interested in creating a DIY music server. I’ve been ripping my CD collection to FLAC files and want a cost effect way to select and play them through my 2 channel system. I’m interested in a Raspberry Pi based device.

I have done exactly this and am very happy with the results.  I went the NUC route, running Volumio.  I mount the music library via NFS or sshfs  from a backed-up server in another room (which also holds all my other non-music media).  I also run nightly rsyncs of the music library to an offsite NUC (actually a Zbox) located at a friend's house for backups.  I'd be happy to tell you more or provide any information of my experience.  It's probably wise to start a new thread in the discless circle, as has been pointed out.
