Hi Guys & Gals,
I think I was on here many years ago, but am now made new and glad to be here: LOTS of good info and opinion to consider!
When very young, I went Cheap & Cheerful (lots of mechanical and filter tweaks) - then pro-sound separates (I thought Low Riders in the grand room were juuuust right!) - then medium to nice bookshelves and subs - then towers, and now back to C & C and FAST.
My hearing isn't quite as good but I still like a mellow system with whatever sparkly delights I can grasp in the treble.
I saw a couple videos where the reviewers pointed out that many with some loss can still be irritated by a poor system that delivers peaks (and distortion) that are not perceived so much as "sound" but pressure: I think that's where I'm at...blegh...and it's partially regulated by my blood pressure at the time, too.
Goto setups from the last few years when I want to demo some music or make someone happy: C-Notes or Neumi/Elac centers vertical; PE 12" subs; Sony 130's & Aiyma 07's; phone/flash via inline DAC's.
I'm saving for some more bi/tri-amp play; might do records again.
I enjoy posts/vids from almost every provider and don't worry about allegiances/dogma, etc.
If any of you got together with me in the past and I forgot, pm or email me and we'll pick up.
Thanks,

Eugene
