Glad to hear that the tube rolling worked out for you.

I can almost guaranty that you will get more bass by replacing the obbligato golds with a better cap.  It was a night and day difference between the clarity caps and the obbligato golds in the preamp that I built.   The caps in the MP DAC are supposed to be easy to replace being held in by thumb screws if I remember correctly.

Here is a review of capacitors-

Maybe Frank will contact me to review the SET 500.
I wish I had the D2 version that has that option,  my D1 has no easy cap rolling option. I bought the D1 on purpose... know I would probably roll tubs and did not want to have the temptation of another mod option. Wishing now that maybe I did.

I looked up the D1.  Looking at the inside of it, you could easily de-solder the caps if the board comes out easily.  If you do not feel comfortable doing it, see if you can find a guy that works on stereo gear to do if for you.

I checked out the capacitor site, tons of info, very helpful, thank you. Great idea about looking into local mod.

Here is another review using caps in electronics instead of crossovers.  Keep in mind if you roll caps, that caps need breakin.  Teflon Vcaps need 500 hours.  I replaced all the caps in my BAT preamp with the same brand and it took 150 hours for them sound good.  I thought I ruined my preamp until then.

I have the older Parasound A52.  Not a huge fan of the Parasound sound but they are solid in almost every way.

Price-wise, it's hard to beat Odyssey and Schiit.
