I pose this question because I am about to undergo chemotherapy for liver cancer in a week and I suspect I'll be sitting in a recliner getting chemo-ed for many hours to come and I thought I might splurge on some headphones or earbuds. What's the skinny on what I should be looking at - price range indeterminant. Probably under $500 or so. Thanks for any help.

I'll give you my thoughts.
There are a few factors to consider.
1. Your Smartphone
2. Ear Buds
3. Network

Okay, not familiar with all brands of Smartphone. I use a Samsung Galaxy A13, works good enough for me. Has built in EQ, also you can customize sound with Adaptive Sound for aging ears. Have no experience with Apple iphone, but my brother has top of the line iphone and he claims its the best.

2. Network speed. I understand that not everywhere in the States has 5G. On my last job driving the highways, I was always in contact range of a Cell tower so I got good reception and have my phone set to Ultra or best connection. IMO this is a big factor in the sound quality you will get.

3. I like my buds but they are discontinued. From the Reviews I looked at the Bowers & Wilkens was getting good reviews and some consider it the best. Cost is somewhere near the $500 bucks. You can however get good sounding buds in the $200 CDN range.

4. Ear fit can also be a problem as well as the Charging dock. So take these things into consideration when trying to decide on what to get.
