Boxes of CDs

Who has a rational approach to what to do with multiple boxes of CDs? I don't even have a CD player and I still can't seem to bless the landfill with them.

If I can sell a disc for $2 or more on ebay, I'll do that. I will also bundle CDs from the same artist and sell on ebay, usually at $1 per CD  9e.g., 5 CDs for $5). If not ebay worthy, I fill a milkcrate of 192 CDs and I list them on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace for $30 per crate. After that donate to a thrift shop.

Our local high school music department also has a music sale fundraiser each year. That is a worthwhile donation option.

How many CDs are we talking about? One rational approach is to pull the audiophile CDs out of the collection and deal with them separately. For the run of the mill CDS I would give them to a local thrift store or library (if they will take them). You could also sell the whole lot to a local audiophile or to a B&M used vinyl/cd store.

For the special CDs I would give them to folks that would appreciate them.

ebay and other selling venues are rational if the value/time ratio is there for you.

I think there are about 1,000 CDs. None of which are heavy metal. Lots of opera, symphonic, fair amount of jazz and female vocals.
