    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

Welcome aboard!

I was lucky enough to visit Christchurch four times in the late 80's and early 90's while traveling to and returning from Mcmurdo Station, Antarctica. What a lovely town you live in! I loved everything about it! I'm interested to hear about your system.

Cheers!

Hi to All
not sure how to reply to individual posts so replied in bulk !! also thanks for the welcome
Yes i have 2 perreaux power amps made in NZ a p6160  6 channel 160 wpc rms and a p200 2 channel 200wpc rms..they are under rated for power not like many blown out figures today !
Yes CHCH is a beautiful city..apart from the damned earthquakes we had for about 5 years with 1000's of aftershocks ...big ones in 2010 -2012 ..its been settled now for the last 5 years we hope !! (but NZ always has earthquakes somewhere being on the pacific ring of fire like USA and Japan )
Hi...I knew a commander of the CHCH Antarctic base a few years back he was in our 4x4 club ..a nice american chap and family
MY gear is good and i consider myself very fortunate to own it in my retirement we built it up over many years as could afford it we put our $$ into hifi gear and not overseas travel and holidays ! (NZ is a great spot for holidays !!)
Our Gear...B/W 802 D3 fronts driven by an Anthem STR power amp (400 WPC) my centre is a  Paradigm signature Reference speaker (6 driver) with SVS ultra towers as surrounds driven by and emotiva XPA-DR3 @450wpc..my surround rears are a paradigm signature ADP series (5 drivers) and my 4 atmos speakers are SVS prime elevation driven by the perreaux P6160..my voice of God speaker is a B/W 8inch in ceiling driven by  the Perraux p200 i have a b/w BD1 sub and a BD1-D sub and a Marantz 8802a preamp ,a jays audio CD mk 2 transport and a jays DAC-2 mk2  an oppo 103D and a Panasonic UB9000 and a Panasonic tv recorder
and i just bought a 85in Samsung 8K TV the 900a flagship models with 47.5% off for boxing day sale which made it expensive but affordable for me (its a stunning TV that has way exceeded my expectations) cables are wireworld HDMI, perreaux XLRs, audioquest columbia interconects and Gibraltar speaker cable with kimber 8TC for the centre and QED signature xt40 x tube for surrounds and for the surround rears and svs prime elevations i use QED original ...an IsoTek EVO3 Aquarius Power Conditioner with isotek power cables and some locally made ones... my wife and I love music and movies etc !! thanks again for the welcome i think i answered you all if i didn't my apologies kind regards alan
