SOLD: Neurochrome Modulus-86 Stereo Amplifier (DIY - Solid-State)
Condition: VG (8 out of 10)
Dimensions: 18” x 17” x 4”
Asking: $950 + CONUS shipping + PayPal (or F&F)

Features:
1. 40W - 8 Ω, < 0.01 % THD+N
2. 65 W 4 Ω, < 0.1 % THD+N
3. Balanced inputs
4. 120V (US) operation

Note:
1. Chassis has no footers. It was built that way. Upon request, I will enclose some small rubber footers that I have used with this amp to good effect.
2. I was not planning to include a power cord with this amp. Most audiophiles have much nicer power cords already in-house. Upon request, I will enclose a very basic power cord with the unit.

If you haven’t heard of Neurchrome, please research them at https://neurochrome.com/collections/power-amplifiers/products/modulus-86 and read about them on www.diyaudio.com. Tom Christiansen is an amazing designer, one of the absolute best out there. This particular unit was built with top-of-the-line parts by the best (IMO) DIY builder on AudioCircle. His work can be seen in numerous places on www.diyaudio.com. First-rate build all the way.

This a fantastic amp….truly. It’s the best amp I’ve ever owned, and I have had numerous wonderful boutique amps over the years (Air-Tight, VAC, Accuphase, Hypex NCore, ModWright, etc.). It has tremendous power and grip for its rating, nearly distortion-free, and never a single issue with it. And it is oh-so musical and clean at the same time. I have been highly, highly impressed by this. Selling only because I am moving to an all-active speaker configuration to reduce box count and footprint. I will miss playing this amp when it sells, I am sure.

Manufacturer’s information below. Please let me know if you have any questions on this. Thank you for looking at my ad.

The Modulus-86 Rev. is a 65 W composite amplifier which uses error correction to provide world class performance. It requires no adjustments and is built using readily available parts.
The Modulus-86 is optimized for ultra-low distortion – both harmonic distortion and intermodulation distortion. The result is a crystal clear and non-fatiguing sound that is revealing without being sterile. Due to the ultra-low noise floor of the Modulus-86, builders experience complete quiet between tracks even with high-sensitivity speakers.
The full set of specifications for the Modulus-86 Rev. are tabulated below.
