sold - SONY CDP-507ESD cd player with significant upgrades. Works and sounds great. Some cosmetic issues on top cover, but looks more than fine in the rack. $295 + ship.
This is from the posting from which i purchased the Sony: "TWIN TDA1541A DAC CHIPS. KSS-151A magnetic rail laser. Extensive upgrades. TENT Labs Super Clock with separate power supply. Main and Local power supplies recapped with ultra low ESR capacitors. Extensive chock filtering on all voltage regulators and IC chip power pins. Added bypassing on DAC chip power pins with additional filtering. DAC chips and local capacitors are mass loaded to diminish vibration. Upgraded OP AMPS to AD826 with bypassing. I'm sure I left out something.
This already excellent cd player is brought to a higher level. Extraordinary space and depth with very fine inner detail.
The player is in very good condition. It loads and reads correctly.
The Sony is just something very special. Its hard for me to think of players that sound better. Extremely open and with great inner detail. Powerful yet balanced throughout. Excellent engineering and parts, just taken to it's greater potential. The Super Clock improves timing and sense of realness. Good CD's sound remarkable. I have some very expensive and regarded players and this is as good, if not better."
