I could use some help. I am building a pair of the x-statiks and I am not sure about wiring the drivers, are they wired in series or parallel?

Mine are a year in the works due to crazy COViD schedule, a little man, and doing a new setup in my car.  I didn’t like my first cabinets so I’m redoing them.

Parallel.

It might be more helpful to clarify that the mids are run in parallel, & the lower woofers are also run in parallel, but separate from the mids.
Just to avoid any confusion. :thumb:

Reviving this thread...

A lot has changed since I last posted here. New home (that we purchased this time), meaning a new room for the system. Not only that, this room is much larger. The old room was 11.5' x 15' x 8'. This room is 13.5' x 21' x 8'. Currently, I have the X-Statik's roughly 2.5' from the side walls and 6'-3" from the front wall. In other words, loads of breathing room! The listening position is also 6' or so from the back wall.

Since this is OUR home, there will definitely be room acoustic treatments for this room eventually. Though things like that will have to wait as I just dropped a large chunk of change on a completely new air conditioning system for the house.

As for the system, I'm still running my Schiit Freya+ and Bifrost 2 DAC as well as my trusty old Polk PSW505 subs on Isoacoustic isolators. Also in the system now are my old pair of NuPrime STA-9 amps, bridged mono for 290 watts each, a new Sony Blu-ray player (which I've had for over 6 months and only used once), and a variety of Tara Labs and Nordost cables along with my Wireworld cables. Running all balanced.

Anyway, on to some pics...

NOS 1930's RCA 6F8G tubes on the left, and a pair of NOS GE 6FQ7's on the right.

I also have several pairs of 6SN7's from CBS, Sylvania and Raytheon/Baldwin. Speaking of Raytheon/Baldwin, I also have a pair of Raytheon/Baldwin 12AU7's, and a pair of GE 6CG7's which are nearly identical to the 6FQ7's, but the 6CG7's utilize a shield between the plates.

Very nice! Congratulations on the promotion! :thumb:

I'd love to hear your setup!

I can't believe it took me over a year to finally see this, but you're more than welcome to come hear them if you're ever in the neighborhood (central Florida).

And on that note, I am STILL impressed daily by these X-Statik's! These speakers excel at dynamics. Very snappy with ample attack.

Well, up until early June of this year, I lived in the Oviedo/UCF area. I've since moved out to North Texas to work for Danny.
I'll be flying home for a couple days next week for a concert. Then flying back again for Thanksgiving & probably driving home for Christmas.
Even got myself a pair of rebuilt/upgraded AV123 X-Statiks and NX-Studios now! :thumb:

A lot has changed this year alone :p

I love them! Their vocal/acoustic performance is really something special, they also play really nicely with tube gear, and easily held their own against a pair of $13,000 speakers.

I agree. The entire top end from 100 Hz and up is amazing. And like Danny keeps praising about those tweeters, they are the best domes I have ever heard at any price range. Open, airy and detailed without being bright, dry or brash. Those $13k speakers, aren't those the Focal's?

It was the Gershman Acoustics Grande Avant Garde

They sounded very good, but they were very much baffle-forward, while the X-Statiks had more depth, but the same sense of scale

Oh, okay. Good looking speakers. I do recall someone else mentioning their X-Statik's besting their $13k Focal's though as well. Might be on a different forum. Not sure.

I am currently comparing mine with my Daedalus DA 1.1V-2. I just swapped the DA's back in last night. :banana piano:
