I'd like to try one.  I had an EC 4.7 and it's probably the best pre I have owned.  I was JUST looking at those ASL's last night. . . but talk about hot. .

too bad ya dint nab the pair of aw220's on a-gon - awreddy sold.  ya coulda tried 'em & not lost any $$$ if they dint float yer boat.  wooda been perfect for ya, imo - coulda run 'em wertically biamped at 70w per channel, or as monoblocks at 220wpc (into 8 ohms; 120per channel/380 as mono's, into yer 4-ohm piega's).  the aw250 still f/s for ~$1500 would also be nice, tho not as flexible.  why not get that for the summer, & a pair of asl or vtl toobed monoblocks for the rest of the year?

these are a different pair - w/the mods, it seems these would be even better than the initial pair that yust sold...
