First build - XLS Encore -> Crossover question
« on: 6 Aug 2021, 02:01 am »
I should be getting my Parts Express crossover board with holes (5X7") tomorrow.

Assuming it fits all parts on it (looking at the giant inductor :o), can I use velcro to stick the parts to the board or use some kind of weak glue, in case I had to remove the parts.

What glue would be suitable for this.

I dont have a specific glue recommendation for you, especially not one that is strong enough to hold but can also be removed easily if needed.    I think you'll find the the default starting position for most in this circle seems to be zip-ties, which I personally trust more than glue to hold a heavy inductor.

Lots of options. This one just happened to come up near top of my search.

Good luck with your project.

Zip ties are easy to adjust for position and removable if you need:

Copy what is done in the video for that model.

Also, don't run the wiring under the board. That will keep connections from reaching and cause you to have to add jumper wires.
