EVO DAC Linux driver compability
« on: 3 Jul 2021, 11:07 am »
Hi I have an EVO DAC and an Auralic Aries G 1 streamer

I cannot get connection with USB, but coax is fine.

The EVO DAC does not show up on the Aries in settings at all, as it should for choosing USB connection on the streamer.

According to Auralic the DAC needs to be compatible with Linux without installing additional drivers

Is EVO DAC compatible with Linux?

It is an amazing DAC by the way

There are many Linux variations.  Linux is not officially supported but Synology works fine with our DACs.
You should ask Auralic why they provided a USB output that is incompatible with the USB audio from Windows or Mac.  You don't need a driver for Mac so why can't they just fix their Linux's USB.

Ok thank you for your answer.

I will have to do with coax which is also fine, good there are two of them.
