I just emailed the Miyajima distributor the same thing, but I though I might tap into AC's experience as well. I own the Madake and mono MC, low output (.23 mV) cartridges (both fab). I own an excellent SS pre, but I am experimenting with a tube preamp. There is a lot to like with the tube jobbie. There is more "there" there and more of an "a-a-a-h-h-h" factor. But, naturally there is more noise, microphonics, and hum as well; and (maybe) it's harder to tell what choruses are actually singing. I'm thinking an SUT could help, and I just noticed that Miyajima makes one (cost unknown) that probably would work out better than grabbing one off the shelf. But I don't want to invest too much in this project before I am sure about the preamp. Ideas? Experiences?
