Asking Price: $795.00
Retail Price: USD $2000.00
The Absolute Sound Amplifier of the Year 2017 and an Editors' Choice for Amplifiers $1,000 – $3,000.
The DPA-1 uses a circuit topology that combines the musicality of traditional Class A and Class AB amps with the power, dynamics and efficiency of the latest Class D designs.
The Class A input stage is composed of discrete FETs and powered by a semi-toroidal transformer.
The DPA-1 delivers 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms.
TAS: "The DPA-1 stereo amplifier and DPA-1M mono amplifiers are no less impressive. Their wide dynamics, terrific grip in the bass, and upbeat sonics made them a joy to listen to... Significantly, the amplifiers don’t exhibit the shortcomings I’ve heard in previous Class D designs. Even in the context of reference-quality sources and loudspeakers, it was easy to forget that I was listening to electronics that aren’t stratospherically priced.”
This is a powerhouse of a little amp, and quite musical. Drove my Raidho D2 speakers with incredible finess. I've owned over a dozen class D amps and this was one of my favorites. In fact, last year I sold both my N-core 1200 monos and Ice-Edge amps and kept this for my summer listening, but have now decided to use my Hegel H-30 year round--hence the sale.
Excellent condition.
