Hi, I have been a member on various audio forums for many years.  Recently I have an "itch" to upgrade/improve my tower speakers, AV123 RS 750.  The google search lead me to this forum....Look like there are many experts here.... Hope I will find my answers here.  Thank ou

Welcome!

Tower loudspeakers is an outdated concept.  Ideal room location to generate bass versus mids/highs don't coincide.  Read Floyd Toole's "Sound Reproduction" (either/both editions).  You'll find that bass is best produced in corners or mid way along walls and from multiple sources (3 or 4) to minimized inherent in-room bass peaks/dips that can easily exceed 20 dB.  And of course mids/highs are best produced away from corners/walls.  Subwoofers also allow for adjustment of bass output and easier sale of your mains.
