Welcome Bryan,
I am relatively new here as well, been browsing for years before joining audio circle.
I am an open baffle fan myself, I currently have spatial audio m3 triode master’s with my tube amps!
My next build will be either Nx studio monitors or the nx-otica mtm version! With h frame open baffle subs!
Jazzman, your work never ceases to amaze me! Bryan, Jazzmans speakers sound excellent, I’ve heard the previous iteration. If these outperform what I heard 2 years ago, they would be hard to beat!
Barry
Barry-- I just realized you're Barry from Carverfest! BTW, we missed you this past Carverfest; which was rather sparsely attended because of the pandemic, no doubt.
Yes, the speakers you heard were the prototypes I built for Martin Fring 3 years ago. The new versions are a bit slimmer in depth, designed PCB's replaced the point-to-point wired proto boards, biasing voltage was increased from 2.7kV to 3.3kV for higher efficiency, and Peerless SLS woofers replaced the Eminence Kapa-Lites. The Peerless woofers sound better at half the price and can play lower before rolling off-- I only used the Kapa-lite pro woofers in Martin's speakers because they are rated for 900 watts, and we know Martin's reputation for smoking woofers

Greg Garza posted a fabulous review of the prototypes in the auction thread. He and Martin hooked them up to a monster Sunfire amp and drove them to insane volume with no ill effects or hint of distortion. I was cringing in the corner with my hands over my ears-- it was amazing abuse. The new ones are even better, more refined, and the aesthetics are magnificent.
Good to hear from you, Barry
