I guess everybody survived the holidays OK. I guess we're overdue for the next get together.  I guess the next question is obvious...

Anybody want to host this next one?

Then the next couple of questions should follow...

What day do we do it on and does anybody have any new cool stuff to bring?

I've modified my Korato preamps. I'd like to bring the little one for you guys to hear.

Hey Willie and G, maybe we could use the get together (if it's soon enough) to go over the Tube Design stuff and come up a plan?

I can bring my diytube st-35 clone and my AES K-502 for starters. I don't know if anyone would be interested in any of my HT gear though. It's all yamaha with carver and rotel amps. Looking foward to meeting the crew!

Hey Scott:

You're all welcome at my place, but it's not big enough for a full fledged meeting.  I've got a new Clearaudio Virtuoso Wood cartridge you need to hear.  Wow!  

Everyone needs to hear Scott's preamp after it's been Teflon and oil capped.    You'll warmup your soldering irons and place an order after you hear what that little preamp can do.

Hey Mark, I'd love to hear that cart especially since we didn't get to hear your vinyl rig the last time. I'd also like to hear your 2A3/Abby system vs. the Innersounds. Talk about 2 extremes! You have the best of both worlds.  My VTL's are still in rehab so I'm out of commission for the next get together.

Any decision as to when this is going to happen? If it's next week, I'll be in St. Louis from the 27th to the 4th and I could make it. I could even bring my battery-powered Scott Nixon NOS Dac and Clari-T amp... if anyone has some high-efficiency speakers hearing these drive them could be a real revelation I think.

Since everybody seems a little reluctant to offer to host the next gathering, I've been working behind the scenes with one of the guys here to set something up. We probably won't know anything (date or time) for another couple of days. As soon as I find something out I'll let everybody know.

I spoke to Dave ( owner of BS) and he's okayed a get together at the store on a Saturday evening.  My personal schedule is pretty busy for the next few weeks but I'll keep you all posted as to when it's likely to occur.

I thought this would be a good opportunity for everybody to show up. Obviously Best is big enough to handle everybody, they are centally located and to top it off they've got some darned nice sounding gear too.

Count me and my neighbor in!  

Have spent a couple Sunday's at Scott's listening and learning - he's been helping me assemble a really nice "starter" tube outfit, (with some help from Bill at Response Audio).  Already have a Chinese Audio Institute 40W integrated tube amp with EL34s, and some other stuff that I don't know what the heck it is.  But it sure looks cool, all glowing and stainless steel . . .  and the sound - very smooth!  Just wish the ball 'n chain was as honked up about the whole thing as I am.  

Have the Audio Note AZ-Two's on their way!  Very exciting.  Even talked Scott into making some cables for me.  Had to bribe him with cash and cigars!  I think had pity on me - you know, newbie sticker shock for connectors and cables.  Yikes!  Actually I had more colorful terms, but they're less than appropriate here.

Looking forward to meeting the rest of the group.  This may be a stupid question but, do we bring "refreshments"?
