Hi fellow sound lovers. Name's Keith, from NZ, but currently in Australia. Still on a long (lifetime I suspect) journey looking for better sound, and I've been following Danny's videos etc for a year or so now. Looking to maybe buy the XLS-Encore pack with a few matching centre's for middle and rears in a 5.1 HT system, also used for 2.1 music. Love my bass, and that's what I am now researching...my current and planned retirement home won't have big rooms, so open baffle anything is out. Was tending towards the single driver sealed sub, but I've seen a dual(12") driver sealed sub from Rythmic that might give me some more oomph. Joined here to check out others opinions both for the XLS and GR subs, as cost and postage to Australia is high, so cabinet flat packs are out - will have to get them CNC cut here.

On the dual sealed sub - I don;t see this on the GR site - is this something Rythmic cooked up themselves? Anyone know?

  • To whom more was given more will be required.

The dual sealed subs are a Rhythmik only thing. They have a few different kinds/sides. Dual opposed 12", dual 8", dual paper 12", dual metal 12", dual opposed 15" & dual ported 15"

Danny's dual and triple are subs are OB-only configurations.

To answer your questions about subs,
I've only herd Danny's triple 12" sub towers and my dual 8" U-frame sub stands that I got from him

For music, Dannys triple sub towers are unrivaled, tho some may argue arent the best for home theater, but others say they do. My dual sub stands are great for smaller spaces, but definitely dont dig quite as deep, but are still incredibly fast.

That said, I do have a modified Rythmik L12 that I upgraded with solid copper wire & a sheet of norez. For both music and movies its fantastic. Its very fast, and it will hit super deep, easily enough to shake the house apart if I let it!
