You can watch the trailer for "Shadow in the Cloud" but the film is more fun if you don't. The story begins in 1943 as Maude Garrett (Chloë Grace Moretz) is on a foggy tarmac walking toward an Allied war plane on a top secret mission. What follows are a series of plot twists that keep your riveted to the screen for the film's tightly edited 1 hour 23 minutes.
Chloë Grace Moretz is new to me but not to the movies, at 24 years old she has been in 44 films and has 74 role credits according to IMDB. Chloë absolutely holds this movie together and does quite well, we'll be seeing more of her.
The film is a mishmash of genres from Mission Impossible Tom Cruise style stunts, men's reaction to a "dame" on a warplane, to a thrilling air battle. "Shadow in the Cloud" is perfect escapist fun, sit back and enjoy the ride.
This is one of the better B-movies, it appears the RT audience for WWII films doesn't like strong capable women (all the negative reviews are from guys, go figure) or the Saturday Afternoon Matinee eclectic style of "Shadow in the Cloud" but the critics loved it with a 79% score.
