RM30C kit

:?:  Two questions:

Can the RM30C be ordered as a kit?

Has anyone used two 626Rs as a center channel speaker?

My thinking is to use a single 626R (kit of course) with my existing large, but not VMPS, speakers.  Later I could add a second after upgrading to RM40s.  I visulize them being placed, tweeters togeather, horizontaly under the screen with their centers about 21 inches off the floor.

Perhaps the RM30C would be a better choice for the RM40s.  I would appreciate others opinion on the matter.

Theres a big difference in resolution and dynamic capabilities between the 626R and the RM30.  I'd go with the RM30C for sure, if dynamics, clarity, and impact are important to you.  The 626R is good in these areas, but the 30's are outstanding.

Hi James,

Yes there is actually a thread "and picture" of a VMPS'er using two 626Rs as what I think he called, a "poor mans" RM30.  He actually went with three RM30s across the front of his HT, and I think he posted that it was a great improvement.

I don't think B, is offering a Kit for the RM30 (or at least he wasn't)

But as Tyson mentioned, it would be a much better choice to go with the RM30C for your center.

Just look at the numbers on the assembled retail prices

RM30C = $1599 (includes FST tweeter and soundcoat)

Pair 626Rs = $1598
FST tweeter = $400
Soundcoat = $150
============
Total list = $2148

As a stand mound system for movies or music, the 626R  is great, but as a Center channel with "Extreme, dynamics and coverage" the RM30 is the champ. (and costs less)

Plus check with your dealer for "courtesy pricing" and you will be good to go :mrgreen:
