Welcome!
In-room listening has many more challenges than headphone use. Speakers are the most important component and the most subject to individual opinions/tastes. But the room is the 2nd most important "component" and the most ignored. The majority of in-room listeners "over gear" for the given room. A decent room shouldn't be small or squarish, should be well insulated, and hopefully dedicated to listening.
Suggest reading Floyd Toole's "Sound Reproduction" 3rd edition. It's the consummate audiophile primer for learning how speakers/subwoofers behave in-room. In it you'll learn to aim for limited bass main speakers and add multiple subwoofers to help control inevitable and severe in-room bass peaks/dips.
