Hey, if the guy who makes the amplifiers says no problem, then you're good.

There's no doubt having hard sided/faced cabinets between your speakers will negatively effect the image, however I've heard too many great systems with open racks with lots of space and differing shapes on them to believe a rack is a problem.

I like that a lot!  It's sort of similar to my rack that I built, but with different proportions.  What are the uprights made of and are they filled?  How is everything held together?

The uprights are made of aluminum, the are held together by the weight of the 2"mdf shelves.  You can fill the uprights although I did not....

JLM, I have to agree with Klaus on this one. I've used certain racking on pile carpet in between speakers that was better placed off to one side in a corner (couldn't believe the difference in sound).  Today I have heavy duty racking on shag that is placed between speakers and the sound is incredible (but it's 90% Odyssey or SL, so how can it not).

Now for some completely different:

Went looking for info on the racks.  I had talked to Klaus before, but wanted something to look at.

So, when in doubt, what does one do?  Google/Duckduckgo/<pick your search engine> it.

Search:  Massiv rack

Hmmm, why am I getting all the hits for "porn" sites?  Maybe, it's 'Massif' instead of 'Massiv'..."stupid" light illuminates!

Word of advice: don't use my search criteria!

Cheers!

That is your experience,  but wayyy too simplified.  All depends on the room,  type of speakers, speaker position,  etc.....I have my system back in between the speakers,  and it works great..........

I have to agree. I've never had an issue  placing a well designed equipment rack between the speakers.

I would like to see your thoughts on the Moab speakers too. Please post something when everything is broken in!

Martinr,

Can you please comment on what the assembly process was like?
I'm gonna need something like this, probably these, sooner or later, so the assembly is of some interest to me.

Thanks,

James

Klaus made me a massive rack....I have used an inexpensive fairly flimsy audio stand for years.  Picked up the massive rack shipped in 8 boxes from Southwest Air freight at DIA yesterday morning.   Had the rack assembled by last night.....what surprised my wife and I was the improvement in detail the massive rack provided.  The 2" MDF shelves apparently significantly dampen vibration compared to the old flimsy shelves I had my system sitting on.  We used BMW metallic grey paint on the risers, these will match my Tekton MOABS when I receive them in a few days.  Here's a pic:
