I still think you're crazy, since you've provided no physical description of any kind to help us locate the sub we haven't even heard of, and which you have heard of. You would, therefore, have a slight advantage.

I assumed it would be the Chinese congomerate's audio company, part of which is called "Energy". Energy Speakers does make a range of subs using "xl", the only damn thing you have specified.

Nevertheless, if you go to google and search for "subwoofer" and "xl", it is surprising how many companies come up, including McIntosh, some German firms, some car auto firms, even some of the lesser Polks, apparently.

You go google.

if i had of known any more details of exactly what they were i would of let you no all i now is the product range is called the xl series, they are enclosed subs, and if you thought that i hadent searched in google before hand you are sadly mistaken i had searched google but none of the results were of any resemblence to what i have previously seen and therefore what i am trying to find thankfully someone knew who i was going on about and came up with the name of the company that i am looking for i have so far discovered that they are made by a company called classic accoustics now all ive got to do is find out somewhere that supplys them.

anyone got any website ideas i should try???

cheers

this is not the first time i have been sadly mistaken let me tell you sir because when you go to google not knowing what you are looking for or even when you do know what you are looking for you can get thousands upon thousands of links to go to but none of that is really relevant since for all i know you are really looking for sub drivers and not subs but how am i supposed to know i am always sadly mistaken and if you cannot - Wait, I lost my train of thought.... - remember a single salient thing about the gosh darn things then why is it so important to find them even though your friend eventually reminded you of classic acoustics so lots of luck and thank you?

sadly i have been googled out for years a flying buttress short of a cathedral like our friend asking for information with no information not even that they are car subs but then again perhaps i was not really making a good enough effort when i googled which incidentally was before our gentle friend had gotten the tiniest scrap of information to help us in turn from his friend i am getting a headache thumping like an automobile sub so that is all good night nurse.

APL, the parent company of Mirage, Energy, and Athena Technologies, is a Canadian company.

There is a Chinese audio congomerate, the name of which escapes me now.  That company is the parent to Wharfedale, Quad, and TAG McLaren/AudioLab.

FYI Energy speakers are owned by a Canadian called API not a Chinese congomerate.  They also own Mirage and Athena speakers.

Whoops missed the last post!!

Oops. Thanks for the correction.

(I _knew_ that. In related news, hearing loss in older people is often really age related brain farts. See story at stereophile dot com this week...um, I think that's where I read it....)
