If you have the room,  an OB tower on either side of the  Otica's/Treme's  instereo    then  the SVS  in the back of the room

If you want to run with Early B's recommendation going with OB servo towers, you would probably want to flank your main speakers and run those as a stereo pair.  If I'm remembering correctly, don't the NX-Tremes play pretty darn low with all those drivers?  Sure, OB servo sub towers are great and all, but I have to wonder if swarming a group of sealed subs wouldn't get more or less to the same place if one was crossing over very low, like 30-40Hz?

Michael, as to giving you a reason to pick up another sub, adding another sub (or two) would help smooth out the frequency response down low in the room/at the listening position - two should end up better than one, and three is what seems to be the research consensus on what makes up a minimal "swarm" arrangement, which with your setup having one on the right wall, one (proposed) on the front wall, and then maybe one more along another wall wherever asymmetrically it might fit would be about a textbook implementation of a "swarm".

I believe the NX-Tremes go low enough that a single SVS 16 Ultra that I tuned to the room would be enough low end extension. But now that I think of it, I should unplug the 11"Eaton woofers that hold the mid/tweet cabinets of the Ushers to see the room loading of those Ushers.

I've owned the servo subs, the JL Audio Fathom F series, The MFW15, Adam? woofers X 2 and others I've long since forgotten about and nothing comes close to the SVS with blending and output in my listening room. So if need be, I'd buy another - somehow as they are pretty expensive and since I already have one...

I am wondering if you could insert a digital crossover so you could put an amp on the woofers and control the volume that way. That's what I would try.

Ronnie, My dac has balanced and single ended outputs as does the NAD. And the SVS has both as well  :thumb:

So having 3 2 channel amps, I simply swap speaker cables between HT and 2 channel. Then I have a BMC S1 which is in need of repair like for years (weighs over 100lbs and shipping OMFG).

I've been away from audiocircle and GR-Research so I'm just now getting caught up.

Wife is wondering why Danny's Neo line array couldn't work in our room? And she won't leave this alone until she has a detailed understanding so don't underestimate the power of a Russian..   :nono:

I said, (they said) the room is too small. She said "we have 17ft high ceilings and the LS6's
played well in a similar size room with 8ft ceilings"

And now she's thinking of moving the 2 channel into our family room which is deeper and has 3 walls.

We need to have a trip to wherever Danny and his speakers reside and listen  :icon_lol:

That’s quite the story.

For me, the real issue is the affect on imaging being that close to the rear wall. Since you are 9’ away from the speakers you could always bring them in tighter to 6’. You want a minimum 10 millisecond delay of direct sound to reflected sound. Count one foot each way as 1 millisecond. That intrudes on the space but you seem to have a wife that wouldn’t mind.

Why not try it out if she is that into it. Quite the opposite problem most of us face. I would think you abs sub would work great with them, but you know you will end up with 2.
