It is up in our web site and available now.

avahifi.com > amplifiers > SET Control Amplifier

It uses a high gain version if our award winning 60W/Ch SET 120 power amplifier preceded by a passive preamp section. It has four sets of line level inputs, a precision volume control, outstanding headphone driver, amplifier on/off switch for headphone use only, and source selector switch.

Because it is not possible to build in a phono section, we are offering our amazing free standing Vision Q phono preamp at a $100 discount if purchased at the same time.

With rational speakers the SET 120 control amp is all you need for phenomenal sound.

Three year parts and labor warranty, 30 day satisfaction guarantee, 17 x 3.5 x 12 inch dimensions, 25 pound shipping weight, and just $1199.

Very clean, pure and simple. Not a lot standing between pure music bliss. Would have been a perfect match for my new Omega’s but it’s just missing the one thing I need, pre-outs for my subs.  :cry:

We could probably add a pair of pre-out jacks on a custom special order basis.

However they would have no gain and the additional undefined load after the volume control may cause unexpected results.

You can't get better than perfect, all you need is a different sub. REL subs use a high (speaker) level input using a Neutrik Speakon cable, that way their subs take on the characteristics of the amp for a seamless transition. REL subs are also known for being fast so they can easily keep up with the Omega.

Hot flash!

Hifitrends just received a SET 120 Control Amp to review.  Their preliminary comments, along with a bunch of photos are already posted.

Really contemplated REL many times. Might have to try one out.I just like my RSL's so much that they'll be hard to beat.

It would be good if some specifications were published. At least the more basics. Easily readable:

* Power at 0.1% and 1% THD+N, 1 kHz, at 8 Ohms and 4 Ohms

* SNR-A at 1 watt

* Sensitivity [volts] for max power

* Dimensions & weight

Hifitrends and AVA too.

If you don't want to build one, you can buy a speaker level to line level adapter.

I don't think you will be disappointed with a REL sub but room size, listening preferences and budget will determine which model will be the best match.

The GR Research Circle has a sub thread started by A_shah wondering what sub would work in his room that could possibly replace his HSU VTF 15 MK 2. He initially tried the REL T9/i but a pair was too small for his room, he should have a pair of S/812's by now.

I suggest you call Rachel at the REL factory in Berkeley, CA. (510) 990-6005
REL has great customer support and she has helped both me and A_shah with our questions.
