I'm having a hard time letting these go, if you know of Gary's work, you know the quality of these amps. But, alas, I need to raise some cash.
There's a problem with these two units. On the Pre-amp, one channel started intermittently cutting in and out. I know next to nothing about the inner workings of these things, but my guess is a solder joint.
At the same time the amp stopped working all together, it just wouldn't come on. My guess on that is the power supply. I say that because when I first bought the amp it had a huge external power supply that plugged into the wall. Gary said he still hadn't been successful designing a dependable power supply when using a battery, but that he'd upgrade it when he did. About 3 months later I got the call and he converted the thing into a 15w/channel battery powered tube amplifier! It sounded fantastic until one day it wouldn't turn on. By that time Gary was getting too sick to deal with fixing them, so I put both units on the shelf.
I always meant to fix them but never got around to it.
So I'm posting this to see if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands. $1,600 or make me a reasonable offer. I fully understand there will probably be expense involved in fixing them so I'll take that into consideration.
