Greetings earthlings!
« on: 9 Jan 2020, 02:33 pm »
I recently joined the circle to learn and share knowledge.  A budget minded audiophile of thirty years, I've spent the last five months updating my system with less of a focus on budget and more on value added.  I'm totally in the digital domain because I travel full time in my motor home and can't afford the weight of vinyl I shudder to think what the weight of over 900 albums would be!  Plus, having grown up with the only option being vinyl I have no interest in getting up and flipping media! I love the flexibility of building a playlist that suits my mood.

What's my kit you ask?  A wired network HTPC with SOtM sata filters and a SOtM tX-USBexp PCI express USB 3.0 host interface card, a wired networked QNAP NAS for file storage, a Chord Hugo M Scaler, a Chord Hugo TT 2 DAC, pre-amplifier, headphone amp, two Schiit Aegir Class A amps running in mono block configuration, a pair of Bryston Mini A speakers. I have three headphones, Focal Utopia, Audeze LCD-MX4 and Oppo PM1 (with Oppo HA2 amp). My music and movie collection is managed through JRiver Media Center.  I don't buy into exotic snake oil products.

Anyhow, nice to be here.

Welcome!

And thanks for the introduction.  That's still a lot of gear to travel with.  I have 150 albums on a flash drive and use Tidal all via a NAD M10 compact "streaming amplifier" that offers a one box computer-less solution.

I'm in Phoenix AZ this winter. I'll probably hit the road again in March or April.  It's so nice to have be able to travel with good music and a nice sound system.  Obviously everything is forced to near field listening, but it sure reduces power requirements!

Good to know that there are fellow northwesterners on the forum!  Enjoying the copious amount of sunshine the winters offer here.  There's no better place to be than in PWN July - September.  I love the Willamette Valley wines, some amazing Pinots there.  I once lived in Portland, Molalla, Bend, Kettle Falls, Colville, Bellevue, Olympia and Centralia.

Thanks for reaching out, sure seems like a nice community.

When I designed the coach I had the manufacturer build a custom AV cabinet. Which houses everything, but my speakers go on the bed which traveling.  Everything is on sorbothane feet to cushion components. Some bad roads make the coach into a rolling earthquake, LOL.

Thanks for reaching out.
