Ultravalve amp with bad tubes
« on: 26 Nov 2019, 04:52 pm »
I was wondering if the Ultravalve offers any kind of protection against bad tubes. For example if tube blows will it take out some resistors and will need service.

The rectifier is protected with a diode pair.  The output tubes rarely fail violently, and worse case they might overheat the 2W 16 ohm bias reference resistors.

It is a very solid design.
